After two fights falling out, the first being ironically against the undefeated Vaughn Alexander (11-0 8KO’s); Devaun “Unique” Lee (10-2-1 5KO’s) makes his professional debut at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden. Having last fought at MSG as an amateur, Lee is more than ready to showcase his talent in front of his hometown in this catch weight fight. DeVaun Lee Back In Action This Saturday!

The “Young All Star” is back at it again, this Saturday December 2nd, DeVaun “Unique” Lee (9-2-1 4KO’s) takes on the formidable Carlos Jairo Cruz (17-1 11KO’s) in his hometown of Santiago, Dominican Republic for the vacant WBA International Fedecaribe Middleweight title. Coming off an impressive September 9th Fourth round KO win over the much more experienced Giovanny Lorenzo, Lee who is promoted by Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing Promotions; looks to pick up a title in hostile territory and get ranked among the best fighters at 160lbs under the WBA sanctioning body. The once defeated Cruz looks to derail Lee’s current streak but has a tough task ahead of him as the Young All Star has continued to work hard as he waited for his next opportunity. Daniel Gonzalez: I’ll Give it Everything To Reach Goal of World Title

Perhaps the true test of a fighter’s will and desire doesn’t come in the ring, but when the Thanksgiving dinner bell rings and he or she has to turn away, knowing that weigh-in day is 24 hours away.

That’s the situation junior welterweight prospect Daniel Gonzalez was in this week as he awaits Saturday’s bout with Danny O’Connor at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, but he wasn’t bothered at all.

“I’m not much of an eater at Thanksgiving,” he laughed. “I try to stay healthy all year round, so I try to stay away from things like that. I might have splurged a little bit, but it’s not that big of a deal. Thanksgiving will be after the fight.”

That’s not the attitude the Queens native would have had ten years ago, just before he stepped into a boxing gym for the first time. Back then, it was…
