After a full camp of hard work and fine tuning of all the necessary skills needed to be a champion, Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez officially made weight. Gonzalez (15-1-1 6KOs) tipped the scales at a fit and ready 139.4 Lbs opposite of his opponent Justin Savi (31-16-2 21 KOs) who was also under the junior welterweight limit at 136 Lbs. With both men making weight it is sure to be an epic main event between the two warriors as part of Joe DeGuardia’s Rockin’ Fights 31 from The Paramount in Long Island, NY. This past Saturday as part of Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing’s Rockin’ Fights 30; Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez moved to 15-1-1 6KO’s after dispatching his opponent Juan Rodriguez (8-8-1 7KO’s) in five rounds. Coming back from his first setback, Gonzalez took on a tough fighter in Rodriguez who has some good wins over undefeated prospects on his resume; and he looked to upset the odds once again. Unfortunately for Rodriguez it would not be his night as El Gallo was ready to redeem himself and put on a dazzling display of defense and punch selection that stunned his opponent and kept him guessing. As the rounds progressed you could see the Universal Boxing Gym fighter continue to press and find openings for his power punches, and in the fifth round an overhand right rocked his opponent as he unleashed over a dozen unanswered blows which caused the referee to mercifully end…

The “Young All Star” is back at it again, this Saturday December 2nd, DeVaun “Unique” Lee (9-2-1 4KO’s) takes on the formidable Carlos Jairo Cruz (17-1 11KO’s) in his hometown of Santiago, Dominican Republic for the vacant WBA International Fedecaribe Middleweight title. Coming off an impressive September 9th Fourth round KO win over the much more experienced Giovanny Lorenzo, Lee who is promoted by Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing Promotions; looks to pick up a title in hostile territory and get ranked among the best fighters at 160lbs under the WBA sanctioning body. The once defeated Cruz looks to derail Lee’s current streak but has a tough task ahead of him as the Young All Star has continued to work hard as he waited for his next opportunity. Much can be said of the moments leading up to, the moment of, and the moments after the first defeat of Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez’s young career… however they all lie in the past and we must all move forward. If anything can be said it is that a lesson can be had and the fire that burns deep down in this young fighter continues to grow stronger than it ever did before.
