Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez Scores 5th Round TKO! Moves to 11-0

Danny "El Gallo" Gonzalez

“The always exciting, undefeated prospect Daniel Gonzalez (11-0-1 5KO Woodhaven, NY) stopped the very tough Carlos Aguilera (10-17 4KO Chiapas, Mexico) at the end of round 5 of a scheduled 8 round Jr. Welterweight battle. Gonzalez took a couple of rounds to figure out his taller, southpaw opponent but once he did he turned up the heat as the two fighters exchanged freely in toe to toe action. Gonzalez’s firepower proved too much for Aguilera as Gonzalez systematically broke him down and unloaded some heavy artillery on his overmatched foe. Referee Pat Sullivan called a halt to the action at the end of round 5.”

DeVaun Lee hands Ian Green first defeat!

Young All Star

Green-vs.-Lee-MVP-13

Devaun Lee, 160, of Jamaica, Queens, and two-time New Jersey Golden Gloves champion Ian “Young General” Green, 160, Paterson, NJ, waged an exhilarating war for six rounds. Green dictated the pace at the outset, setting up power shots with a stiff jab, while Lee stayed on the outside looking for counters. Hooks to the body and head from Green followed in round two. However, with Green closing the distance, Lee found opportunities to land effective counter shots. The exchanges escalated in the third and fourth rounds. By the fifth, the tide had turned and it was Lee pumping a stinging jab at a tiring Green, who may have suffered a broken nose by this point. With fatigue setting on both determined fighters, Lee appeared to have the edge in the sixth and final round. Scorecards read 58-56 twice, and 57-57, awarding a majority decision to Lee to improve his record…

Rising New York based Puerto Rican junior welterweight prospect Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez upped his professional ledger to 10-0-1 4 KO’s as he took apart tough trial horse Justin Johnson in 2 round last night at The Paramount. Gonzalez was the first fight of Joe Deguardia’s Star Boxing Rockin’ Fights 21 and he started the show off with a bang using a barrage of punches to drop Johnson down twice in the first and using a crushing right hand in the second round to have the fight waved off by the referee as he was deemed unable to continue. The future looks bright for “El Gallo” and the next stop is continuing to gain experience as the young Queens resident rises up the ranks.
